Corn College Advanced Two-Day Session
July 17-18, 2013                    Heyworth, IL

2013 is not the year to miss! This year's Corn College agenda brings you the ultimate hands-on experience when it comes to growing better corn. You'll spend limited time sitting in sessions and more time than ever out in the field! Presentation topics include disease diagnostics and decision-making exercises; herbicide management and in-field symptomology; as well as nitrogen management and in-the-field nitrogen evaluations led by Ken Ferrie.

The Farm Journal Corn College Advanced session provides practical, hands-on training to help corn growers increase yields and improve their profitability. Corn College alumni ready to broaden their knowledge from previous years are encouraged to attend this one-day session.

Led by Farm Journal Field Agronomist Ken Ferrie and Associate Farm Journal Field Agronomist Missy Bauer, the event includes general instruction, in-field breakout sessions and an expo showcasing corn production tools.

Location: Corn College Campus
                   9051 Bucks Road
                   Heyworth (near Bloomington), Illinois 61745

Founded in 2008, the Corn College builds on the success of the Farm Journal Test Plot program, which has been helping farmers do a better job of growing corn for 22 years. It was a direct response to requests from farmers for more access to the vast corn production knowledge of the Farm Journal Field Agronomists.
This two-day session offers:

  • Hands-on Farm Journal agronomy classes.
  • Integrated classroom and field training to help attendees quickly move their production skills to the next level
  • Classes that help attendees understand the Ken Ferrie’s Systems Approach to Crop Production
  • Training that helps attendees learn agronomic management techniques that raise yields and increase dollar/acre return.
  • Unprecedented access to Ken Ferrie and Missy Bauer – in group settings, breakouts and with question/answer venues

This program WILL NOT offer CCA credits.

    The Systems Approach
The Systems Approach requires understanding how one process influences others. This pyramid shows how one management change affects many other factors and ultimately yield. Read or watch how you can benefit from using Ken Ferrie's Systems Approach by clicking here.
