Corn College Fundamentals of High Yields:
The Foundation to the Systems Approach
Wed., July 31 - Thurs., Aug. 1, 2013    Coldwater, MI

The Farm Journal Corn College Fundamentals of High Yields session provides practical, hands-on training to help corn growers increase yields and improve their profitability. This session is geared for the first-time Corn College attendee and will provide them with the core knowledge of how to use the Systems Approach on their farm.

Location: Corn College Campus
                   277 North Fremont Road
                   Coldwater, Michigan 49036

Led by Farm Journal Associate Field Agronomist Missy Bauer, the event includes general instruction, breakout sessions in the field and an expo showcasing corn production tools.

Founded in 2008, the Corn College builds on the success of the Farm Journal Test Plot program, which has been helping farmers do a better job of growing corn for 22 years. It is a direct response to requests from farmers for more access to the vast corn production knowledge of the Farm Journal Agronomists.

The two-day session in the Corn College “Fundamentals of High Yields” offers:

  • Hands-on Farm Journal agronomy classes.
  • Integrated classroom and field training to help corn growers quickly move their production skills to the next level.
  • Classes that help growers understand the Systems Approach to Crop Production.
  • Training that helps growers learn agronomic management techniques that raise yields and increase their dollar/acre return.
  • Unprecedented access to Missy Bauer in group settings, breakouts and with question/answer venues.

This program WILL NOT offer CCA credits.

    The Systems Approach
The Systems Approach requires understanding how one process influences others. This pyramid shows how one management change affects many other factors and ultimately yield. Read or watch how you can benefit from using Ken Ferrie's Systems Approach by clicking here.
