Welcome!
The 2013 Halophiles Conference will take place from Sunday, June 23 - Thursday, June 27, 2013 in Laurel Hall at the University of Connecticut.

Your conference registration fee covers airport transportation from Bradley International Airport in Hartford/Windsor Locks (if applicable) on June 23 and June 28, accommodations in a premium residence hall, parking (if applicable), all conference activities, and meals.

During the registration process, you will have the opportunity to choose airport transportation and a residence hall room and roommate (if applicable).

In addition, you will be able to submit an abstract for an oral or  poster presentation.  Abstracts must be uploaded by Tuesday, April 30. 

For international attendees, if you require a conference invitation to obtain a visa, please contact thane@uconn.edu.

 General Registrant:  $1,000.00
 Student Registrant:  $   850.00
 Spouse of Registrant*:   
* includes meals, receptions, excursion, gala dinner, residence hall room, airport transportation or parking.  Does NOT include conference sessions. 
 $   660.00
 UConn Registrant:  $   300.00
 UConn Student Registrant*:
*must confirm by entering UConn netid during registration process
 $   150.00

Announcement: Published Proceedings



We are pleased to announce that the 2013 Halophiles Conference will publish its proceedings in Frontiers in Microbiology as full open access CC-BY. Frontiers, recently partnered with Nature Publishing Group, is a Swiss Open Access academic publisher, launched by scientists in 2007 which strives to provides a fair, objective and transparent peer review process. Frontiers in Microbiology publishes high quality and rigorously peer reviewed discoveries, and leading thoughts across the entire spectrum of Microbiology.
