"Facing the Giants in the Land"
Dr. Walter Bradley, (Materials Science), who taught 34 years in the secular university, will draw parallels between Christian Professors and the Israelites, when they heard the report of giants in the Promised Land. He will discuss the challenges and opportunities that Christian Professors face in public universities and colleges.
"Encountering Religious Discrimination in the Tenure Process"
Dr. Chris Petruzzi, (Accounting), will share how God carried him through this trial in loving an individual by faith.
"Incredible Opportunities to Influence Policy Decisions"
Dr. William Jeynes, (Education), works with state and federal government officials on faith and family issues that involve a variety of different functions for different pieces of legislation. These include speaking before government officials, helping write the bills, serving as an advisor, and providing research. He will share the benefits that accrue to Christians and larger society in these efforts.
"Lessons from 'The Lesson of Grace in Teaching'"
Recently, I gave a speech at an academic conference about my biggest life lesson, and how it has shaped my teaching. In particular, I discuss how giving and receiving grace can challenge the academic notion that you are defined by your accomplishments. I will share this speech, as well as reactions to my speech, which subsequently went viral online and has been shared four thousand times on Facebook. --Dr. Francis Su

Dr. Walter Bradley will discuss the various kinds of opportunities that Christian professors have in their teaching, research and service. He will illustrate with examples from his own career.
