The Eisenhower Fellows of St. Louis invite you to the second Eisenhower Fellowships unConference. (Click here to meet the St. Louis Fellows and here to meet our Steering Committee)
Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis
What is an unConference?
The idea of the “unConference” was borne out of the recognition that the best aspect of Eisenhower Fellowships’ gatherings is often the coffee breaks where Fellows have time to interact and collaborate. The unConference concept replaces traditional panel sessions and speakers with informally structured collaboration sessions. The event is participatory and creates opportunities for participants to work together to develop ideas into real outcomes.
The day will begin with a couple of TED-like talks to provide inspiration, and then ideas for breakout sessions are solicited from the audience. The St. Louis unConference will also follow up on ideas that Fellows are already working on, some of which came out of last year’s unConference in Boston: 1) low-cost tablets to enhance educational outcomes; 2) providing associate degrees in health care to underserved high school graduates in their high schools; and 3) bringing economic development to the conflict ridden region of Mindanao, Philippines. In addition to our USA Fellows, this event will include members from EF’s esteemed Alumni Advisory Council and current fellows from our Southeast Asia Program (Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam).
