ACISTE provides education and certificate training for mental health professionals, pastoral counselors, spiritual counselors and other professionals who wish to increase their competency and develop their expertise in working with clients who may have psychological, spiritual or mental health challenges related to their spiritually transformative experiences (or STEs). STEs may include, but are not limited to, near-death or similar experiences, spiritual emergencies, out-of-body, kundalini, after-death communications, etc.
The conference brings together top researchers, experiencers and practicing professionals to present their expertise and insight into in this growing field of specialization and awareness.

Each attendee receives an updated supplemental guidelines for working with clients who report issues related to STEs. The collaboratively written guidelines include research results, along with extensive biography.

ACISTE surveys of experiencers indicate both a significant need and desire for competent mental health professionals to help them with various issues following their STEs.
A full-day workshop (Sunday, October 6th) is available after the conference for those mental health professionals, pastoral or spiritual counselors who are in private practice and who wish to become ACISTE certified. Certificants will be included in an ACISTE online directory for self, support line and agency referrals. Attendance to the conference (presentations on October 4th-5th) is REQUIRED to attend this workshop. Enrollment in the workshop is required for certification. Additional requirements apply. A processing fee of $200 is required to attend this workshop to be paid at the time of conference registration or at the conference. The processing fee is in addition to the registration fee and is not refundable.

12 CEs for US psychologists are provided by The Spiritual Competency Resource Center which is co-sponsoring this program and is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. SCRC maintains responsibility for the program and its content.

ACISTE has made arrangements with the Hilton-Crystal City in Arlington, VA near the Ronald Reagan Airport and Washington DC Metro (stop right at the hotel!) for a special rate of $99 per night (plus taxes and fees) for a standard room (king or double queen) for conference attendees. A reduced parking rate of $12 for hotel registrants, free airport shuttle and free internet in your room is also provided. If you wish to stay longer or come earlier to do sight-seeing, there are a limited number of rooms available at our group rate 2 days before and 2 days following the conference.
