Course Description
E
mergency medicine physicians require continuous updates of their knowledge and skills for the prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and urgent aspects of illness and injury. This one day course will provide an overview and update on a broad range of topics that are pertinent to emergency medicine practitioners.

Our distinguished Cedars-Sinai faculty will present lectures addressing a variety of topics ranging from the use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in cardiac arrest and pre arrest scenarios; advanced ultrasound with emphasis on lumbar puncture; and ocular, vascular,  and focused assessment with sonography for trauma (FAST) scan.

In addition, Cedars Sinai is a national leader in the care of critically ill patients undergoing heart transplant, and our distinguished faculty will provide the community physicians and nurses’ clinical pearls about providing these patients with optimal care.

Attendees will have the opportunity to experience “hands-on” ultrasound scanning through the use of model or simulation, and practice some of the techniques presented at this conference.
We welcome and invite your participation at the 11th Annual Emergency Medicine Symposium sponsored by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
