Welcome to the Conference website!

We hope you'll join us for a fabulous weekend with our wonderful faculty where you will learn, get inspired, greet long-time friends, and make new ones.

Please note that due to a conflict, agent Terrie Wolf of AKA Literary Management is unable to join us for this year's conference. We'll be sure to have her back another time.

There is a silver lining, though. We are thrilled to have Sara Megibow of Nelson Literary Agency join the conference faculty as a speaker and a 1-on-1 manuscript critiquer. She will be presenting a similar breakout session as the one listed for Terrie in our conference brochure, still titled "Matchmaker, Make Me a Match – Finding the Right Agent to suit you and your work, dumping the one you’re with if it’s not right."

Sara has been with Nelson Literary Agency since early 2006. Her first responsibilities included reading query letters, sample pages, and full manuscripts, and she was promoted to Literary Agent in 2009. From sexy romance to epic fantasy, Sara has loved reading since picking up her first copy of The Hobbit. Sara earned a B.A. in Women’s Studies and a B.A. in American History from Northwestern University. She loves to ski, hike, kayak, and hang out with her beat-boxing husband, adorable son, and fuzzy cat.

2013 Vickie Ferguson Scholarship winners announced!

The Wild Writers, Vickie Ferguson's critique group, have selected the winners and runners-up for the 2013 Vickie Ferguson Memorial Scholarships. From the group:

With 52 entries (41 writers and 11 illustrators) and many, many wonderful applications and stellar sample writing and illustrating, we really struggled this year. It was a joy to see the commitment, talent, and excitement in the Rocky Mountain Chapter. Many were very close so the decision was extremely difficult. So difficult, in fact, that we actually awarded two Honorable Mentions this year, something we've never done before!
The Rocky Mountain Chapter is grateful to the Wild Writers and everyone who donates to make these scholarships possible. We hope many of the applicants will be able to attend the conference and continue to work on their craft, regardless if they won or not.

Christine Macdonald, WINNER

Tiemdow (Dow) Phumiruk, WINNER
Tabitha Aaron, RUNNER-UP

Winners will receive free tuition for Saturday and Sunday as well as either a one-on-one written critique or a one-on-one portfolio review.

Runners Up receive a reserved seat next to the faculty member of their choice at Saturday lunch.

Honorable Mentions receive kudos and are welcome to mention this in query and cover letters.
