The first in a series of four Wellness workshops introduces the Yoga Calm® Wellness System, highlighting its basic Principles and Classroom Tools including breathing exercises, simple yoga-based movement, social/emotional skill-development activities, relaxation/storytelling processes and emotional guidance techniques. Through lecture, hands-on learning, reflection and discussion, participants learn how Yoga Calm’s unique integration of physical, mental and emotional skill building supports both learning and health. 

Suitable for all levels of abilities, with no yoga experience necessary, this workshop will provide participants with the basic knowledge and ability to immediately begin teaching yoga-based movement, stress reduction and focusing techniques, and social/emotional skill-development activities.  Learn more than 20 activities and Integrative Lesson Plans that can be taught in a variety of settings to instill healthy, lifelong physical, mental, and emotional habits in children and oneself.

This workshop is for school teachers, social workers, counselors, treatment center staff, yoga teachers, OT's, parents, and other adults that work with children.

Coursework also applies toward Yoga Calm Youth Instructor Certification and qualifies for professional development credit. This course is a prerequisite to Integrated Approach to Wellness 2 and 3.
