Science of Buildings Workshop

The National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project and National Fuel Conservation Incentive Program are honored to announce the upcoming Science of Buildings Workshop for Teachers.  The workshop will be hosted at the Hamburg Central Schools Administration Building on October 22nd, 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. This workshop is designed to provide hands-on materials and training to classroom teachers (5-12) who will have a unique opportunity to learn about energy in a fun and exciting way!  Directions will be sent with registration confirmation.
Thanks to the sponsorship of the National Fuel Conservation Incentive Program, there is no cost to attend the workshop.  Breakfast and lunch are included!  Substitute Reimbursement will be provided for those that attend.
The NEED Project’s mission is to promote an energy conscious and educated society. NEED is the nation’s leading provider of energy education programs and materials to schools. All NEED learning activities are correlated to New York’s Learning Standards.
Thanks to the support of the National Fuel Conservation Incentive Program, all participating educators will receive a hands-on classroom kit that provides equipment students can use to investigate energy use in their school and learn about our energy sources.  In addition, participating teachers will be provided with Home Energy Efficiency Kits to send home with students to their families.  Together, the families install energy efficiency and conservation measures – shower flow bags, outlet gasket insulators, faucet aerators, water-saving shower heads, and other tools.  Materials provide structure for students to work with their families to save energy and integrate their efforts with a classroom activity.
If your district has a question, contact NEED at 1-800-875-5029.

To be eligible, your district must be located in National Fuel service territory
