Artworks 13 is taking advantage of the wonderful computer facilities at the new High School of Art & Design by offering a variety of tech workshops; teaching with tech, using the iPad, iMovie, and SMARTBOARD, designing video games, creating digital photography, making a virtual art gallery, and using stop motion animation. Workshops, based on the Common Core Capacities, include hands-on workshops and dialogue sessions presented by skilled educators, artists and museum educators. These include best practices workshops, engaging students in art conversations, portfolio development and classroom management strategies. Other workshops include interdisciplinary arts instruction such as the integration of mathematics and the visual arts, obtaining DonorsChoose art classroom funding, teacher travel grant resources, beautifying your school through collaboration with NY CARES, teaching architectural drawing, developing eco friendly projects, making pop art portraits, and glazing techniques. Most workshops are geared towards all levels.
