Rhode Island Student Energy Workshops

The Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources and the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project are excited to announce the upcoming Rhode Island Student Energy Workshop to be held at Park View Middle School in Cranston.   Student groups of all ages have the opportunity to learn about energy from a science and technology perspective and to find ways to prepare for careers in energy.

Thanks to the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources, the workshop is free.  Teachers receive substitute reimbursement, breakfast and lunch is provided, and participating teachers will receive hands-on curriculum resources for use with student teams back in the classroom.

Rhode Island is honored to have award-winning student leaders to host this workshop and they welcome participation from schools across the state.  Groups of up to 8 (including teachers) are welcome to attend.    The workshop will cover the forms of energy, energy sources, and energy conservation as well as ways to engage students in energy exploration and science, technology, and mathematics.

Substitute reimbursement forms will be available at the workshop and substitute costs will be reimbursed to school districts. If your district has a question, contact NEED at 1-800-875-5029.
