Wildcat Track & Field Academy

The Wildcat Track & Field Academy camp helps to develop the skills and techniques for sprints, hurdles, relays, jumps, throws and overall speed. They are instructional camps - not training camps. Participants take part in several types of warm ups, demonstrations, drills and instructional stations. Since skill levels of campers may vary from beginner to advanced, instruction is individualized to handle such a spectrum. Campers use Northern Michigan University athletic facilities, including practice areas, equipment and training rooms.

Campers will be given a firsthand opportunity to work with experts in each of their respective events. All campers will receive instructional material for all events.

Sessions are scheduled for mornings and afternoons. Practices are held at the indoor and outdoor athletic facilities or, in case of inclement weather, all practices will be held at the indoor facility. Afternoon sessions might include films, informative talks, competitions and recreational activities.
