Training Offerings

Select Functional Courses, Individual Classes and Workshops based on the software and hardware configuration of your system

Functional Courses

These multi-class series are designed to achieve a functional ability in the students, either as operators or programmers.  Participating in one of these courses provides additional instructor support towards the goal when compared to enrollment in individual classes.

Individual Classes
Individual classes provide an alternative to the functional courses with flexibility to enroll in limited training as needed.
Advanced Topic Workshops
These are additions to the standard MeasureMind or Measure-X training courses for systems configured with the topic capabilities.

Functional Courses

MeasureMind - Operator's Course (2-Class Series)
An introductory training course for up to 3 students. 

Individual class titles:

MeasureMind 3D - Programmer's Course (4-Class Series)
A comprehensive training course for up to 3 students.

Measure-X - Operator's Course (2-Class Series)
An introductory training course for up to 3 students.

A comprehensive training course for up to 3 students.

Individual Classes

Fundamentals: Class 1  [4 hours]
Vision - System Introduction & Automation Basics
This class is to provide theoretical as well as practical understanding of the system. It is to establish the prerequisite knowledge for Fundamentals 2.

  • Discuss the physical layout and components of the system.
  • Introduce manual measurement and the creation of rudimentary automation.
  • Involve each student with hands on the machine.
  • Require that each student demonstrates an understanding of the material.

Prerequisites: Basic PC-Windows familiarity including understanding of navigation and file management.

Fundamentals: Class 2  [4 hours]
Vision - Robust Edge Finding
This class is to provide an introduction to the principals and tools used to accomplish robust edge finding. It is to establish the prerequisite knowledge for Programming 3.

  • Review the principal concepts of Fundamentals 1.
  • Extend the concept of Formal Datums to the Z axis.
  • Explore the effects of lighting.
  • Consider part orientation to the camera and fixturing.
  • Explore all aspects of FeatureFinder.
  • Involve each student with hands on the machine.
  • Require that each student demonstrates an understanding of the material.

Prerequisites: Fundamentals 1.

Programming: Class 3  [4 hours]
Introduction to Advanced Topics - Applications & Techniques
This class is to provide an introduction to advanced topics with a focus on robustness of automation.  It is to establish the prerequisite knowledge for the all additional classes. 

  • Review the principal concepts of Fundamentals 2.
  • Work with student developed part programs.
  • Introduce techniques designed to deal with part variation in feature size, location and finish.  
  • Establish student-directed class model for use in all advanced training.
  • Introduction of multi-sensor topics.
  • Involve each student with hands on the machine.
  • Require that each student demonstrates an understanding of the material.

Prerequisites: Fundamentals 2.

Programming: Class 4  [4 hours]
Workshop - 3D Geometries
This class is to provide refinement of the students programming techniques specifically engaging 3D geometries.  It is to establish the prerequisite knowledge for the rest of the Advanced Topics Workshops.

  • Review the principal concepts of Programming 3.
  • Solidify a robust programming method through a process of test and verification.
  • Use student directed part programs to achieve usable measurement results.

Prerequisites: Programming 3.

Advanced Topic Workshops
Prerequisites: Programmer's Course (or equivalent)

Advanced Image Processing Tools software  [4 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use of the Advanced Centroid and SoftSectioner.

Autorun Plus software  [6 hours]
Covers all aspects of programming with Autorun Plus scripting.

Custom Training  [4 hours]
This class is an individualized 4-hour on site class structured around customer’s needs.

Laser sensor  [4 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use and programming of the laser sensor.

MeasureFit software  [4 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use of the MeasureFit including fitting data to a CAD model and macro programming.

MeasureMenu software  [4 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use of MeasureMenu software.

QC-Calc/SmartReport Plus software  [4 hours]
Covers typical usage of QC-Calc or SmartReport including reporting, database communications and chart creation.

Rainbow Probe™ sensor  [4 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use and programming of the Rainbow Probe™.

Rotary axis (MSR, MTR)  [4 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use and programming of a rotary axis. 

Scanning Probe sensor (SP25)  [6 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use and programming of the scanning probe sensor.

SmartCAD 3D software  [6 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use of  SmartCAD 3D including off-line part simulation and measurement routine generation from a CAD model.

SmartFeature software  [4 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use of SmartFeature software including account management / user access and sub-mask programs.

SmartFit 3D software  [6 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use of the SmartFit 3D including multiple analytic approaches and fitting data to a CAD model.

SmartProfile software  [6 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use of SmartProfile including analyzing GD&T call-outs and fitting data to a CAD model.

Touch Probe sensor (TP20, TP200, Feather Probe)  [4 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use and programming of the touch probe sensor.

TrueMap software  [4 hours]
Covers all aspects of the use of TrueMap software including gridding and plotting of data sets.
