Attendees engaged during the 2013 conference opening presentation by Margy Waller.
The sixth annual Arts Festival Conference, presented by ZAPP®, convenes August 28-29, 2014, at The Benson Hotel in Portland, Oregon. This two-day conference takes place just before the award-winning Art in the Pearl Fine Arts & Crafts Festival, offering attendees the ability to partake in dedicated professional development and also experience an artist-run fine arts show!
The 2014 Conference features sessions and topics relevant to the entire art fair field — not just ZAPP® users! As an attendee, you can take advantage of vital networking opportunities, receive professional development tailored specifically to helping artists and show improve their sales and events, engage in dialogue with artists, show directors and promoters, and learn more about trends affecting and shaping the art fair industry. We'll also include the esteemed ZAPP® Symposium, a thought-provoking staple of the annual conference whose topics and conversations resonate with attendees and others in the field long after the conference has concluded.
Join us this year in the beautiful city of Portland, where interest in the arts is infectious and the list of things to do is endless!

The ZAPP® system grew out of a nonprofit partnership between eight major arts festivals and WESTAF and has been praised by both art festival administrators and artists alike. ZAPP® allows artists to apply online to art festivals and allows art festivals to manage their application, administration, and jury processes online. Since its launch in 2004, ZAPP® has become the premier internet art festival tool — serving more than 600 events and 70,000 artists.
ZAPPlication.org is a service of WESTAF. WESTAF is a nonprofit arts service and research organization and an experienced developer of technology solutions for the arts. WESTAF fulfills its mission to strengthen the financial, organizational, and policy infrastructure of the arts by engaging in arts-policy research and state arts agency development, developing innovative programs, providing a variety of services, and supporting programming for artists and arts organizations. Additionally, WESTAF regularly convenes experts and leaders to address critical issues affecting arts and culture. Founded in 1974, WESTAF is the largest of six regional arts organizations in the United States and is proud to have several artists on staff.
