The Catawba Master Naturalist classes meet every Wednesday, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, beginning March 5, 2014. The course fee is $600 per person. Please note that this registration system accepts credit cards only - VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diners Club (see below). As part of the course fee, participants receive a Master Naturalist toolkit which includes a hand lens with lanyard, Master Naturalist manual, and several field guides.

PLEASE NOTE: The Catawba Master Naturalist Program is a classroom and field-based program. As such, access to some sites visited by the class requires hiking on trails of moderate difficulty. Participants must be in good physical condition and able to hike 1-2 miles, without difficulty or assistance, over terrain with steep sections, where footing will be uneven, with frequent tree roots, rocks, muddy areas and fallen tree trunks to climb or step over. Sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots are required. In addition, some sites do not have restroom facilities requiring use of the woods.

We appreciate your interest in this program designed to create a corps of volunteers working within their communities to provide education, outreach and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas throughout the state. In order to receive Master Naturalist certification, you'll need to finish the training and provide 30 hours of volunteer service per year. We think you'll find a meaningful connection with people and nature as you complete the program.

NOTE: The registration system accepts credit card payments only (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diners Club). If you do not have a credit card and must pay by check, please contact Dr. James H. Blake (jblake@clemson.edu) and provide your contact information. Send your check, made payable to Clemson University, to the address below. You will be contacted upon receipt of payment to complete the registration process. Payment must be received before you can be registered.
