WHAT TO BRING
The CrossFit Defense Trainer Course introduces the CrossFit Level 1 Trainer to the bio-mechanic, conceptual, and philosophical foundations of the S.P.E.A.R. System. Each day will include breakout sessions for demonstration and drilling the practical application of the S.P.E.A.R. System. The lectures, demonstrations, presentations, and breakouts all serve to expose the participants to CrossFit Defense’s origin and foundational movements. The scenario inspired drill sessions serve to reinforce the practical and relevant application of the course content. Events rotate approximately hourly for the duration making for two dynamic and intensive training days.
Participants are required to participate in the workouts and skill building sessions in order to receive a Trainer Certificate. Certificates will be handed out at the completion of the seminar.
Are there any pre-requisites for this course?
You must be an active L1 - preferably working at a CrossFit affiliate.
*No prior martial arts training is necessary to complete this course.
**Attendance at the CrossFit Defense: Athlete's Course is a bonus but not a pre-requisite.
Is there any sparring or fighting involved in this course?
No. There will be two high-intensity WODs per day that will test the L1s understanding of the movements and reactions as a defender and as a role-player attacker.
Is there a written test?
Yes, there will be a test to confirm your understanding of the safety protocols taught during the course.
What should I bring to the course?
Bring a notebook or laptop. Wear athletic clothing. Be sure you review and familiarize yourself with all the pre-load videos.
The fee for the CrossFit Defense Trainer's Course is $595 (US dollars). Payment can be made via credit card or check. The final balance is due paid in full three weeks prior to the course or your spot will be forfeited. A $250 deposit is necessary to hold your place and payments may be made until three weeks prior to the course start date.
Credit card payments can be made online during the course registration and the exchange rate is calculated automatically for payments drawn against non-US banks.
Checks are accepted in US funds ONLY. You must indicate for whom and for what course the payment is to be applied on the check. In addition, complete and send this form with the check, using one of the two following options for sending the form and the check:
