Golden Anniversary Reunion and 50 Year Athletics Reunion

We invite you to return to campus, see what is new, and visit with friends who were part of your Ball State experience! A committee of your classmates has planned a delightful visit for a combined 50 year reunion of the classes of 1963 and 1964, plus a special day for athletic team members from those years. We know that you will enjoy tours, speakers, delicious meals, and some student performers, and will leave with a sense of renewed pride in your alma mater.

Wednesday, June 11
Athletes from all 1963-64 teams are invited to play golf at 10 a.m. at The Players Club at Woodland Trails, tour athletic facilities at 3:30 p.m., and enjoy a 6:00 p.m. reception and 7:00 p.m. dinner at the L.A. Pittenger Student Center. Invite your team members and participate in this exciting day! You may also stay for two more days of fun and connection with former classmates.

Thursday, June 12
Arrive between 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Alumni Center, pick up your tote bag and nametag, and enjoy light refreshments while visiting. Lunch and a brief program will begin at 11:15 a.m. You’ll hear from Cherí O’Neill, BS’89, president, Ball State University Foundation, before beginning afternoon tours of the Music Instruction Building, or Department of Art, or a walking tour of the “Old Quad,” (original campus). At 2:15 p.m. Kirby Koriath, professor emeritus, will climb 100 stairs to play the carillon in Shafer Tower. Your choice of tours of the new Holden Strategic Communications Center/Unified Media Lab in the Department of Journalism and the David Letterman Building, or David Owsley Museum of Art, or campus by bus will follow. A reception begins at 6:00 p.m. with dinner at 7:00 p.m.  President  Jo Ann M. Gora will provide remarks.

Friday, June 13
Enjoy breakfast on your own, and meet at the Alumni Center at 9:00 a.m. to board shuttles for tours of the Student Recreation and Wellness Center and renovated Studebaker East Residence Hall, or the Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass (limited to first 35 reservations.) Return for lunch with Tom Kinghorn, vice president of business affairs and treasurer emeritus, who will provide a visual presentation about Ball State’s campus, growth, and changes. Guided tours of the David Owsley Museum of Art, the new Holden Strategic Communications Center/Unified Media Lab in the Department of Journalism and the David Letterman Building, and of campus by bus are again set for the afternoon.

Return to the Alumni Center for a Golden Anniversary reception at 6:00 p.m. and a group picture at 6:30 p.m. Julie C. Stroh, associate vice president of alumni programs and president of the Ball State University Alumni Association, will provide remarks and induct class members into the Half Century Club with a pin and certificate presentation. Student musicians will entertain during dinner on both Thursday and Friday. Anticipated adjournment is 9 p.m. 

We will provide transportation for all tours, and the Alumni Center will remain open for you from 7:30 a.m. until close of the dinner program on Thursday and Friday.

Parking and Event Locations
Free parking is provided in the lot shared by the Alumni Center and Scheumann Football Stadium, 2800 West Bethel Avenue. Golfers meet at the Players Club at Woodland Trails, 6610 West River Road, Yorktown, Indiana 47396, and return to Alumni Center for tours. Transportation is provided.
