R.L. Stine

R.L. Stine was born in Columbus, Ohio. When Bob was nine, he found an old typewriter up in the attic. That discovery changed his life. He carried it down to his room and started typing stories and little joke books. After graduating from Ohio State University in 1965, Bob headed to New York City to become a writer. He wrote dozens of joke books and humor books for kids. And he created Bananas, a zany humor magazine which he did for ten years. In 1989 he created the Fear Street series, the best-selling young adult book series in history. Goosebumps began in 1992. The book series quickly became a hit around the world. Translated into 32 different languages, it made R.L. a worldwide publishing celebrity. R.L. Stine says he has a great job: “My job is to give kids the CREEPS!” R.L.’s books are read all over the world. So far, he has sold over 350 million books, making him one of the best-selling children’s authors in history.

Seanan McGuire

a.k.a. Mira Grant

Seanan McGuire is a prolific science fiction and fantasy author, averaging three books and multiple pieces of short fiction every year since 2010 (her first book came out in 2009).  She doesn’t sleep very much.  She won the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 2010, and has been nominated for several Hugo Awards, both under her own name and the name “Mira Grant,” who she claims is her own evil twin.  Seanan’s interests include horror movies, horrible things found in swamps, doll collecting, and visiting Disney Parks all around the world, which may also account for some of that missed sleep.  Seanan lives in Northern California and writes wherever she happens to be at the time.  She can be bribed with Diet Dr Pepper, which is thankfully easier to get than many quest items.  She’d love to talk to you.

Andrew Gross

Andrew Gross is an author of thrillers including four New York Times bestsellers. He is well known for his collaborations with suspense writer James Patterson. Gross’s books feature close family bonds, relationships characterized by loss or betrayal and a large degree of emotional resonance which generally lead to wider crimes and cover-ups. They have all been published by William Morrow, an imprint of Harper Collins.

Mary Kay Andrews

a.k.a. Kathy Hogan Trochek

Mary Kay Andrews is the author of the New York Times bestselling Save the Date, Ladies’ Night, Spring Fever, Summer Rental, The Fixer Upper, Savannah Breeze and Blue Christmas, as well as Deep Dish, Hissy Fit, Little Bitty Lies and Savannah Blues. Her next novel, BEACH TOWN, will go on sale May 26, 2015.

She also wrote ten critically acclaimed mysteries, including the Callahan Garrity mystery series, under her real name, Kathy Hogan Trocheck. Her mysteries have been nominated for the Edgar, Anthony, Agatha and Macavity Awards.

A native of St. Petersburg, Florida (and a diplomate of the Maas Bros. Department Store School of Charm), Trocheck earned a B.A. in journalism from the University of Georgia in 1976 (Go Dawgs!). She started her professional journalism career in Savannah, Georgia, where she covered the real-life murder trials which were the basis of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. She left journalism after a ten-year stint as a reporter for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

She is a frequent lecturer and writing teacher at workshops including Emory University, The University of Georgia’s Harriet Austin Writer’s Workshop, the Tennessee Mountain Writer’s Workshop, and the Antioch Writer’s Workshop.

As a lifelong “junker” the author claims to know the location of every promising thrift store, flea market and junkpile in the southeastern United States, plus many parts of Ohio.

Married to her high school sweetheart, she is the mother of two grown children and a proud grandmother. After a brief hiatus in Raleigh, NC, she and her husband moved back to their old neighborhood in Atlanta, where they live in a restored 1926 Craftsman bungalow. She divides her time between Atlanta and her restored beach cottage on Tybee Island, GA.
