Hosted ​by ​the ​Delta ​Regional ​Authority, ​the ​full-day ​forum ​will ​take ​place ​at ​Southwest ​Tennessee ​Community ​College ​in ​Northeast ​Memphis, ​Tennessee. ​A ​detailed ​agenda ​will ​follow.

This ​forum ​will ​help ​rural ​firms ​understand ​ways ​to ​grow ​their ​business ​by ​finding ​new ​customers ​overseas ​or ​selling ​more ​to ​their ​existing ​international ​customers. ​ ​Attendees ​will ​hear ​from ​experienced ​local ​exporters ​and ​from ​local, ​state, ​and ​federal ​organizations ​about ​resources ​and ​opportunities ​to ​help ​rural ​companies ​meet ​their ​export ​objectives. ​

U.S. ​Department ​of ​Commerce ​Secretary ​Penny ​Pritzker ​is ​invited ​to ​speak, ​along ​with ​Doug ​McKalip, ​Senior ​Policy ​Advisor ​for ​Rural ​Affairs ​for ​the ​White ​House ​Domestic ​Policy ​Council. ​DRA ​Federal ​Co-Chairman ​Chris ​Masingill ​will ​also ​participate. ​More ​information ​on ​the ​Made ​in ​Rural ​America ​initiative ​is ​available ​on ​the ​White ​House ​website ​at ​http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2014/02/07/fact-sheet-opportunity-all-establishing-new-made-rural-america-export-an ​
