Goal:


To provide up-to-date, state-of-the-art information on new and improved technology in the field of ophthalmology to ophthalmologists, ophthalmologists-in-training and ophthalmic technicians. Internationally known faculty will present lectures, case studies and panel discussions that will provide innovative, useful information to practicing physicians and their staff which they can use in their day to day practices.

Objectives:

1.) Summarize the treatment modalities available for periocular skin cancer

2.) Recognize the pertinent issues when faced with complex ocular surface pathology

3.) Recognize cortical vision loss presentations in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease

4.) Understand the measurement of vitreous oxygen levels

5.) Be familiar with methods to reverse retinal ischemia

6.) Identify potential new avenues to use widefield imaging for management of pediatric eye disease

7.) Recapitulate referral guidelines for failed vision screenings recommended by the AAO/AAPOS

8.) Summarize and contrast the safety and efficacy outcomes between the EX-PRESS glaucoma
drainage device and trabeculectomy

9.) Evaluate options for future practice regarding the use of femtosecond laser arcuate incisions

10.) Understand cellular markers of retinal inflammation

11.) Understand research efforts to develop novel anti-inflammatory agents
