2015 Fathers' Journey to the Heart!
February 7-15, Burnet, Tx

Let’s be realistic, coming on a Journey can be a very difficult decision for men to make. It requires time away from families and jobs, maybe even sacrificing a vacation. It means missing out on church responsibilities or other serving opportunities. It comes with a monetary cost that impacts the family budget. So why should men come?

We’ve thought through each of these obstacles, and the answer always comes out the same: Men are the pivotal force that influences the direction of the family, the church, and the nation.

Within the family, a young person who seeks God has some influence on the rest of their family. A mother who seeks God has a greater influence, but a father who seeks God has an extraordinary capability to influence. This fact is statistically well-established. If a father does it, most of the children will do it. God has placed men in that powerful position, and that is why the enemy fights so desperately to defeat men, or at the least, keep them busy with good things to distract them from the best thing, a relationship with Christ that overshadows all they do, think, and say.

Knowing Christ deeply is the best weapon against the enemy, it is the most effective method of parenting, it is the key to being a good spouse, and it is a sure fire way to be a good employee. But, most importantly of all, it is the very reason we were put on this earth.

With all the cares and responsibilities that men face, it is often hard to find time for deep fellowship with Christ, so the goal of this Journey is to provide the opportunity of undistracted time with Jesus. All throughout Scripture those we regard as “great men of faith,” including Christ Himself, went away into a quiet place to seek the Father. We hope and pray you will take this opportunity to do the same.

“When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.” Psalm 27:8

“Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 9:23-24
