Co-sponsored by Seattle University School of Law and Robert's Fund this interactive and engaging CLE seminar will enhance your listening skills to foster civility in the legal profession.  The seminar will examine the value of listening, explore ways in which listeners demonstrate they have heard, identify challenges to listening, discuss strategies to improve listening skills, and be provided with opportunities to practice effective listening.

  8:30 –  9:00:    Identify the characteristics of effective listening and civility

  9:00 –  9:45:    How listening fosters civility and promotes justice

 9:45 – 10:15:    The challenges of effective listening

10:15 – 10:30:   Break

10:30 – 12:00:   Foundations of civility as a listening strategy

12:00 – 12:45:   Lunch 

12:45 – 2:15:
    Specific strategies to listen in a variety of contexts

 2:15 – 2:30:     Break

 2:30 -  4:00:    Practice Listening

    Group Registration:  Applicable fees for all registrants in a group will be charged to the first person registered in the group as one transaction.   If different members of the group are paying individually (for example with different credit cards), individual registrations are required.

    Cancellations:  The last day to cancel for this program is 5:00pm Friday, March 6, 2015.  Thereafter no refunds are permitted.  However, a substitute attendee is most welcome.
