The seventh annual Arts Festival Conference, presented by ZAPP®, convenes September 24-25, 2015, at the Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza. The two-day conference takes place in conjunction with the 84th Annual Plaza Art Fair, offering attendees the opportunity for professional development and the ability to see one of the longest running art festivals in the country.

The 2013 conference opening presentation by Margy Waller.

The 2015 Conference features sessions tailored specifically for professionals in the art fair and festival industry — not just ZAPP® users! As an attendee, you can take advantage of all the following and more:

  • vital networking opportunities,
  • professional development tailored specifically to helping artists and shows improve their sales and events,
  • dialogue with artists, show directors and promoters, and learn more about trends affecting and shaping the art fair industry.
  • the esteemed ZAPP® Symposium, a thought-provoking staple of the annual conference whose topics and conversations resonate with attendees and others in the field long after the conference has concluded.
Join us this September in Kansas City, the "Paris of the Plains," a burgeoning arts city that offers a whole host of arts and cultural activities, amazing public fountains, and of course, the Plaza Art Fair.

The ZAPP® system grew out of a nonprofit partnership between eight major arts festivals and WESTAF and has been praised by both art festival administrators and artists alike. ZAPP® allows artists to apply online to art festivals and allows art festivals to manage their application, administration, and jury processes online. Since its launch in 2004, ZAPP® has become the premier internet art festival tool — serving more than 600 events and 70,000 artists.

ABOUT WESTAF is a service of WESTAF. WESTAF is a nonprofit arts service and research organization and an experienced developer of technology solutions for the arts. WESTAF fulfills its mission to strengthen the financial, organizational, and policy infrastructure of the arts by engaging in arts-policy research and state arts agency development, developing innovative programs, providing a variety of services, and supporting programming for artists and arts organizations.
