This event is now over. Thank you to all who attended. Please stay tuned for details on TAFA 2018!

TAFA 2016 will feature some of the biggest names helping animals!

Suzy Welch is an American author, television commentator, business journalist, and public speaker. Her 2009 book, 10-10-10: A Life Transforming Idea, was a New York Times bestseller. She’s also the co-author, with her husband Jack Welch, of two international New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling business books, Winning and The Real Life MBA. Join Suzy during the Special Session to learn about her journey in fighting her heart out for the animal protection movement.

Josh Tetrick is the co-founder and CEO of Hampton Creek Foods, the world’s fastest growing food company. Join Josh during the Special Session to find out what it would look like if we started the food system from scratch. Josh will tell you what he’d do—and is doing—at the fast growing food company on Earth: Hampton Creek.

Carol Leifer will be a plenary speaker at TAFA! Carol has starred in five of her own comedy specials that have aired on HBO, Showtime, and Comedy Central. She is also a four-time Emmy-award nominee for her writing on "Seinfeld," "The Larry Sanders Show," and "Saturday Night Live." She has written for the Oscars telecast seven times, the most of any female writer. Among her many honors is the prestigious Writers Guild award for her work on TV's number one comedy, "Modern Family.” And she was nominated this past February for another Writers Guild award for her work on the 2015 Tony Awards, hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming.

She is the author of the bestselling book entitled, "When You Lie About Your Age, the Terrorists Win.” Her latest book called "How to Succeed in Business Without really Crying” will be on sale following the opening plenary. Carol is donating the profits of her book sale back to HSUS.

Jim Keen will also be a plenary speaker at TAFA! Keen is a veterinarian and infectious disease ecologist-epidemiologist with 27 years of teaching, research and field experience in livestock health, food safety, veterinary public health and emerging and zoonotic infections. He is author of 69 peer-reviewed scientific publications. After enabling and supporting Big Ag livestock production for decades, Keen had a 2007 epiphany and converted to become a strong supporter of livestock protection. This culminated in his whistleblowing of abuse of research livestock at the USDA’s Meat Animal Research Center in Clay Center, NE in 2015. Keen strongly advocates improved welfare of both research and industrialized factory farm livestock.

David Carter, a.k.a. The 300lb Vegan and former NFL defensive lineman, will be joining a panel of experts at the “Healing Ourselves and Animals with Every Bite” Friday half-day workshop to talk about the right plant-based foods for optimal performance. You don’t want to miss this!
