Welcome to the registration site for the 2016 National Association of State Foresters Annual Meeting!  The Georgia Forestry Commission is pleased to partner with the NASF to bring together the nation's forestry and wildfire leaders at the beautiful Hilton Desoto in historic downtown Savannah, GA.  We look forward to hosting you for an exceptional week of business, learning, and networking from September 19-22, 2016.

As a reflection of our beautiful port city which prominently features urban, rural, and industrial forestry, the theme of this year's meeting is "My Tree - Our Forest."  A few things to note about Georgia:

  • Of our 37 million acres of land area, 24.7 million acres is forest land.
  • 91% of Georgia's timberland is privately owned.
  • Forest related industries inject $28.7 billion and 129,329 jobs into the state's economy.
  • The Port of Savannah is one of the fastest growing container facilities in the world, is currently the number two export facility in the nation, and forestry products combined are the number one export from Georgia's ports.
  • Ecosystem services (clean air & water, carbon storage, wildlife habitat, aesthetics) provided by GA's forests are valued as $37 billion/year.
  • Growth in GA forests exceeds harvests by 45%.
  • Georgia currently has ten wood pellet mills, emerging industries (like bioenergy) and the expansion of traditional wood industries have the potential to add thousands more jobs to the state.

I invite you to register at your earliest convenience to take full advantage of the early-bird discount.  Be sure to review and carefully select all activities in which you and your spouse or guests want to take part.  If you have any questions or wish to speak with someone, feel free to contact any of our team members listed on the right side of this page for assistance.

Thank you for your interest in the 2016 NASF Annual Meeting.  We hope you'll join us in Savannah!
