The Level 2 Certificate Course (formerly the Coach’s Prep Course) builds on the concepts and movements introduced at the Level 1 Certificate Course.  The course is ideally suited for all CrossFit trainers, emerging Affiliates, and anyone serious about developing quality in coaching techniques.  Attendees will enhance their understanding of the CrossFit methodology, program design and implementation, and advance their coaching skills.

Come prepared to be heavily engaged.  Peers and instructors will provide coaching, evaluation, and feedback as you actively participate in lectures, small group work, and workouts.


  •     Level 1 Trainer Certificate
  •     Strongly recommended:  at least 50 hours (~2 classes/week for 6 months) of small-group CrossFit coaching.
  •     Strongly recommended:  completion of the Online Scaling Course


The Level 2 Certificate Course is intended to improve participants' understanding and implementation of:

  • Essential mechanics of functional movement
  • Fault identification and correction
  • Essential qualities of an effective trainer
  • Effective programming design and evaluation
  • Class management strategies for effective group workouts


  •     The course will be held in English with an Italian translator. 
  •     Course participants are expected to attend and participate in all parts of the course to receive their Trainer Certificate.


  • US$1,000. if registered 14-days or more prior to the course start date.
  • US$1,200. if registered within 14-days of the course start date.


  • A copy of the Level 2 Training Guide and Workbook
  • Suitable clothes for moving and working out.
  • Pen or Pencil.
  • Small snacks and fluids, or even a meal if you do not plan on going off-site during the lunch break.
  • Government issued ID.
  • Your receipt for this course.
  • Participants under 18 need to bring a waiver, completed and signed by his or her parent or legal guardian.  Under-18 participants may not participate in the course without this document at registration.

  •     9 AM to ~5:30 PM each day.


  •     One-hour lunch break each day.
  •     Meals are on your own.  Bring your meal if you do not plan on going off-site.


  •     Study the Level 1 Training Guide, specifically the 9 foundational movements (pp. 146-195).
  •     Coach small groups the foundational movements (recommended: at least 50 hours (~2 classes/week for 6 months)).
  •     Print and bring a copy of the course material: Level 2 Training Guide and Workbook.


Payment Instructions

  • Your final balance is due paid in full six weeks prior to the course. Please place a $250 deposit to secure your spot. You can continue to make payments as long as your balance is paid in full six weeks prior to the course or you will forfeit your spot.
