Shared Ownership:  It’s Way Past Time!
Addressing – No Longer Admiring – the Issue

How do we build a community of shared ownership for all children and youth in an increasingly challenging educational environment?  How do we forge a united faculty that envisions itself as a team of educators working on behalf of all students?  “Shared ownership” is a popular concept, but how do we make that happen with the constraints of existing resources? This session will offer practical strategies for use in school and community settings.

This Keynote will challenge us to identify the emerging trends, concerns and opportunities that have ‘shared responsibility for all’ as their foundational truth.  Have we reached a point beyond which we cannot progress without looking squarely and honestly at the barriers that are not fully organizational, but personal?  This keynote session will conclude with some action steps that take us far beyond just ‘admiring the problem’… but then, it’s time, isn’t it?

Dr. Frances Stetson is President of Stetson & Associates, Inc., an educational consulting firm specializing in supporting systems change in schools – with a focus on inclusive practices, closing the achievement gap, differentiated instruction and quality standards for instruction and leadership.
