Map and Directions

Dear Colleagues:
You are invited to attend Brain in Flux: Genetic, Physiologic, and Therapeutic Perspectives on Transporters in the Nervous System, an ISN Satellite Meeting being held in Maintenon, France, just 50 minutes from Paris.

The organizers will bring together leading experts in the study of brain transporter proteins whose activities regulate CNS metabolism, excitability and signaling, with a goal of sharing methods, paradigms and concepts, identifying opportunities for collaboration, and elucidating paths to translation of recent findings to better treatments for brain disorders.

The following topics will be presented:
   •Transporter Structure and Dynamics
   •Transporter Trafficking and Imaging
   •Transporter Human Genetic Disorders
•Modeling Transporter Dysfunction in Worms, Flies
      and Mice
•Emerging Opportunities to Target Transporters and
      their Regulators for Medication Development
   •Co-transmission and Transporters

The organizing committee will select additional speakers based on abstracts submitted.  First, ten (10) trainees (pre or post-doctoral fellows) will give data blitzes (5 min) summarizing key findings in their upcoming poster.  Second, seven (7) speaking slots are reserved faculty who submit abstracts.  If funds allow, we will provide these individuals with modest support to attend the meeting.

After the poster session, the organizing committee will select up to ten (10) trainees for travel awards of $500 each.  These awards will be announced on the last day of the meeting; awardees will be given a certificate.  Organizers expect the available rooms to be completely booked so attendees are encouraged to register early.

So plan now to join us and we look forward to seeing you in France!
