Brian Grete is an expert on risk management and commodity analysis. With Pro Farmer since 1996, he has served as senior market analysis and Pro Farmer editor. Brian's reporting focuses on news and events that influence commodity markets and how that translates to risk management for your farming operation.

Jeff Spieler grew up on a grain and livestock farm in Northwest Iowa. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science degree from South Dakota State University and has worked as a seed product manager and agronomist for 16 years. Jeff has been a technical agronomist for DEKALB Asgrow for the past 8 years in Southern South Dakota.

Jim Millar spent 20 years working as a soil scientist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service in South Dakota. A majority of his work consisted of soil survey mapping over 400,000 acres along with demonstrating the soil quality test kit. In 2005, he joined forces with Francis Schaffer and started Precision Soil Management, a precision farming business which creates detailed soil management zones, GPS soil sampling, fertilizer and seeding recommendations/prescriptions. Jim also started working with different cover crop mixtures and has monitored the impact different cover crops have had on soil moisture utilization, soil nutrient levels and soil salinity levels. Jim received his MS and BS degrees in Agronomy from South Dakota State University.
