Session I – Manipulative and Movement Therapy for the Spine

Note: Spine rehabilitation fellows and continuing education participants have the option to take any or all of the modules and their respective parts seminars

Part A: February 23-24 - Get with the Guidelines: Neck and Back Pain
Part B: February 25-26 - Soft Tissue Mobilization - The Evidence and the Art
Part C: February 27-28- Fundamentals of Spinal Manipulative Therapy

(1.5 CEU's for Part A, B, or C):

Session I focuses on:
  1. Interpretation of clinical findings for diagnostic classification and treatment planning
  2. Impairment examination and associated interventions that are related to the patient's reported back or neck related activity limitations and particular restraints, including a) movement analysis and reeducation movement coordination impairments of the trunk, girdles, and extremities, b) segmental mobility assessment, manual therapy and exercises for spinal segmental mobility deficits, c) manual therapy and exercise mobility deficits in the pelvic girdle, shoulder girdle, lower extremity, and upper extremities, and d) nerve mobility assessment, manual therapy and exercises for mobility deficits of the associated, relevant neural elements and entrapment sites
  3. Psychological assessment and patient education strategies that focus on preventing the progression of acute back and neck pain toward the development of chronic disabling conditions

Session II: Pain Management
May 20-21 Managing Spinal Pain: The Science and the Skill
May 21-22: What to Do When They Have Mental Impairments Too: Education and Counseling for Patients with Neck and Back Pain
May 23-24: Advanced Spinal Manipulative Therapy 

Take any 2 day course without taking the whole series in their entirety.
