Employment Services for People with Autism Spectrum Disorders

May 24, 2017

Abbey Lawrence, University of Washington Employment Program

Course Description
This webinar will provide useful information to those providing direct service to individuals with autism that are interested in or are seeking employment, as well as those that currently serve or support clients with autism in an employment setting. Some of the topics that will be discussed are: identifying key deficits that are commonly associated with individuals diagnosed with autism, how these behaviors may become barriers to successful employment outcomes, and how to better serve and support an individual on the spectrum. By breaking down some of the core deficits, we will explore ways to better understand some best practices for working with an individual on the spectrum, while raising awareness and acceptance towards this population.
