The UC Ergonomics Research & Graduate Training Program, the UC Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, the Bay Area HFES Chapter and the San Francisco ASSE present a 2-day course on the latest updates, techniques and tools to assess physical exposures in the workplace. This course includes seminars and hands-on workshops for participants to learn new technologies and approaches to measuring physical exposure and assessing risk for musculoskeletal disorders.

This 2-day course will review the new 2017 Revised Strain Index (including the new Composite Strain Index (COSI) & Cumulative Strain Index (CUSI) approach to calculating task and job level exposures), the ACGIH TLV for HAL equation approach, the maximal acceptable exertion approach to fatigue, the new cumulative lifting index. These are task assessment tools to calculating maximal acceptable push/pull/lift/hold forces, practical approaches to estimating force, and advanced techniques to applying software and simulation into your practice.
