Jewish Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training

Applications for this program are now closed. If you have any questions please contact Jordan.

Apply now to participate in a unique program of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality, co-sponsored by the Awakened Heart Project, to train the next generation of mindfulness meditation teachers in the Jewish community.

The JMMTT program combines retreat practice, guided personal practice, study, curriculum development, hevruta study and faculty mentoring. The program will run for 15 months and includes three retreats. Retreats are mostly silent, with practice instruction, teaching,  contemplative prayer, and daily yoga practice. Participants will have the opportunity to meet one on one with faculty members on retreat.

In between retreats, participants will meet weekly with a hevruta, engage with a robust curriculum, and check in monthly with a faculty member.

This program is for individuals who intend to deepen their own practice and have the desire and capacity to teach others in a variety of settings. It is designed for primarily for those who would like to teach in local settings like synagogues, Hillels, JCCs, Jewish day schools, etc. Applicants should have significant experience in mindfulness meditation practice, a dedicated Jewish practice, and a commitment to grow as a teacher of Jewish mindfulness. We are open to applicants whose strengths in one area may be greater than in others.
