In partnership with St. Joseph’s Villa, the VCU Department of Psychiatry and CHOR/Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC), are offering two Clinical Workshops on October 4 - 6, 2017. The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS-2) (Modules 1-4), and the ADOS-2 (Toddler Module).  These clinical trainings will be held in the Administration Building at St. Joseph's Villa, 8000 Brook Road, Henrico Virginia.  An individual may register for one or both workshops; registration options are listed below.

About the trainings.
The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule 2nd Edition (ADOS-2) is an observational assessment used to aid in the evaluation and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders across ages, developmental levels, and language skills. Through instruction and live demonstration, you will:
  • Learn how to administer the ADOS-2 Diagnostic Tools
  • Learn how to incorporate information gathered through ADOS-2 administration into a comprehensive ASD assessment.
  • Interpret/score results using consensus scoring.
  • Learn how to apply results to interventions/IEPs.
ADOS-2 can be administered by psychologists, physicians, speech-language pathologists, 
social workers, special educators, OT/PT and related professionals.  

REGISTRATION OPTIONS: 
1.   ADOS 2 (Module 1-4) Clinical Training 
This 2-day workshop will teach you how to use the ADOS-2 to assess and diagnose autism. The trainer will demonstrate the administration and scoring of the ADOS-2.  You will have the opportunity to practice scoring while observing the instructor administer the ADOS-2 to a child with ASD.

2.   ADOS-2 (Toddler Module) Clinical Training
The Toddler Module is intended for ages 12-30 months and specifies the ranges ofconcern reflecting the extent to which a child demonstrates behaviors associated with ASD.  This workshop is only focused on the Toddler module. 
*Prerequisite: Attendees must have attended training on modules 1 – 4 of the ADOS-2

3. ADOS 2 (Module 1-4) and Toddler Module Workshops

***It is highly encouraged that each participant have access to an ADOS-2 manual and have reviewed the manual prior to training.  It is highly recommended that each participant have their own manual. Manuals may be purchased directly from Western Psychological Publishers.  Current catalogue price is $99.00 per manual plus shipping.***
