Join CARTA Director Christine G. H. Franck for a drawing workshop at the Denver's historic and inspiring St. John's Cathedral from 9:00am - 12:00pm, Saturday, October 7, 2016.

This course is suitable for all levels of experience and will include both group and individual instruction throughout the entire three-hour long course. Participants will learn basics of sketching three-dimensional forms in space; how to see and represent light, shade, and shadow; and different line techniques. We will be working outside, so please dress accordingly.

There will be some drawing supplies on-hand, but it is recommended that you bring:

~ 9 x 12 or larger pad of smooth heavy weight 100lb Bristol paper or similar size sketchbook
~ Assorted soft pencils such as HB, 2B, 4B, 6B and sharpener
~ Kneaded eraser or other soft eraser
~ You may also bring pens, compressed charcoal, white charcoal, and toned paper, such as Strathmore 400 Series or Canson Ingres Drawing Paper in blue, gray, or beige, if you wish to experiment with various media
~Portable seat, cloth, or other item to sit on, as you may want to sit on the lawn area rather than the sidewalk close to the building
