On-site registration will open at 7:15 a.m. each day in the auditorium foyer of the Texas AgriLife Research and Extension Center in San Angelo. Lunch is served each day and is included in the registration fee.

Saturday, November 18
INSTRUCTOR: Steve McCauley, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)

TIME: 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (two 15-min. breaks)

Helping Pets with Chronic Kidney Disease Live a longer/Better Life
Dr. McCauley will review the use and benefits of therapeutic renal foods in cats and dogs with chronic kidney disease. This discussion will include a deeper look at the differences between therapeutic renal foods and maintenance diets and research that substantiates their use. Additional topics that will be addressed include loss of muscle mass in older pets and when and how to transition pets to therapeutic renal foods.

A Stressed-Out Kitty
In this session, Dr. McCauley will review how stress in the home can negatively impact a kitty’s bladder health and how the proper nutrition can support feline urinary health while also managing stress. Learn how to help pet owner’s identify and reduce the chances of urinary issues by helping alleviate stress in their kitty’s life.

Dr. McCauley will finish out with information on SOX Shield and other nutritional updates.
