MIT Residence Hall Accommodations

A limited number of sleeping rooms have been arranged on the MIT campus for registered XVIII World Economic History Congress participants. These rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may sell out before the deadline. Early reservations are strongly encouraged.

The traditional residence hall is non-air-conditioned and has shared bathroom facilities on each floor. Rooms with private baths are not available. Rooms are furnished with a twin-size (single) bed, desk, desk chair, and dresser per person. Guests are provided with sheets, a blanket, a pillow, and towels. Toiletries are not provided. Rooms are serviced prior to arrival. There are common lounge areas in the residence hall for informal gathering; refrigerators are located in some of these areas. The residence hall building has vending machines and coin-operated laundry machines. Telephones may be available in the hallways for emergencies and local calls.

Check-in time begins at 3:00PM. Departing guests must check-out at the front desk by 11:00AM. There is no smoking or alcohol allowed in the residence hall.

The MIT Residence Hall is available as a 6-night package for registered WEHC participants. Early arrival on the night of July 28 and late departure (check-out August 5) are available for an additional nightly cost.

MIT Housing Cancellation Policy
Written cancellations must be sent by email to Written cancellations received one-week before your arrival will receive a full refund (excluding access card fee). After that, refunds will be made less a penalty equivalent to the cost of one-night's stay; provided the cancellation is received no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled date of arrival. No refunds (full or partial) will be granted for cancellations received within 24 hours of the scheduled arrival date or thereafter, nor for any nights the residence hall is not occupied during a reservation period.
