NEM 2.0 and Successor Tariffs: Which States are Doing What?
Wednesday, March 14, 2018 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM (Eastern Time)

Description: Many states have recently taken actions to change rate designs for net energy metering (NEM), other distributed generation (DG), or both. In 2017, these topics were on legislative or regulatory agendas in over half of all states. Actions sometimes resulted from a preexisting legislated or regulatory trigger, requiring a study and consideration of rate design changes when installed NEM systems reached some predetermined threshold. Other times, utility companies proposed changes for commission approval. Rate design changes considered include various combinations of: (a) other-than-retail compensation for excess energy delivered to the grid and exchanged with the utility; (b) increases in fixed charges; (c) adding demand-charges to bills for customers who did not previously have them.  This NRRI Webinar will review the different proposed and adopted changes, including both tweaks to existing NEM rules and regulations and successor tariffs.
