Map and Directions

The U.S. Air Force is on a mission to invent the future for 2030 and beyond. As our adversaries close the technology gap, the U.S. needs to push the boundaries of what is possible in the areas of science and technology in order to defend America.

For more details on this strategic effort, see https://www.afresearchlab.com/index.html#2030

In September 2017, Secretary of the U.S. Air Force Heather Wilson launched an initiative to update the Air Force's science and technology strategy. Over the course of a year, the Air Force will listen and learn from the scientific community, higher education and business professionals through a series of conversations and outreach events. Click here to read a letter from Secretary Wilson.

With the support of the Air Force Research Laboratory, the University of Utah is hosting a forum for the U.S. Air Force and its research community to envision innovative science ideas that could have the potential to fulfill the goals of the USAF 2030 Initiative https://www.afresearchlab.com/index.html#2030 and the challenges of the Air Force in 2030 and beyond http://www.af.mil/Portals/1/images/airpower/AFFOC.pdf.

This is NOT your average conference. Bring your innovative ideas, and plan to sit down with your colleagues from academia, industry and Air Force leadership to envision new ideas and new ways these innovative and emerging technologies could be put together to enable the Air Force of 2030. Please join us for this event. We are reaching across six regional states to draw together researchers from institutions of higher education, along with industry research and development professionals.

Attendance at the US Air Force Science and Technology 2030 Forum is free-of-charge. In order to plan for your arrival, we ask you to register. By registering you will enable us to plan for name badges, conference materials, refreshments, and dining.
