This Module is tailored to meet the needs of the participants by identifying and then addressing the specific problems they frequently encounter with the safe and effective delivery of HVLA thrust techniques. All techniques will approached on the basis of technique refinement with an emphasis on final minor adjustments, the use of momentum and minimal leverage positioning.

The course is taught by Peter Gibbons and Philip Tehan, both Doctors of Osteopathy in Melbourne, Australia. They have taught the Essentials of Spinal Manipulation course at USC for 15 years but only rarely have offered the Masterclass. Take advantage of this opportunity to advance your spinal manipulation skills from expert clinicians and superb instructors. 

Learning Outcomes/Objectives:

Upon completion of the Module, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a consolidation of existing knowledge and performance in pre-thrust spinal positioning for HVLA thrust techniques.
  • Demonstrate a consolidation of existing knowledge and performance in the use of HVLA thrust techniques for the spine, thorax and pelvis.
  • Describe and demonstrate the spinal positioning and locking used in thoracolumbar and rib HVLA thrust techniques.
  • Describe and demonstrate minimal leverage positioning and the use of momentum induced thrust techniques for the spine, thorax and pelvis.
