  • Statistics with Decision Center. / Dan McMahon, MARINet Administrator, Marin County Free Library

MARINet has used Decision Center (and before that Encore Reporter) for over 7 years.  We use Decision Center both for routine circulation statistics, and for answering more detailed queries about the effect of policy changes, or for being aware of general trends.  Typical statistics we pull from Decision Center include:

o    How much are our self checks used?

o    What is the most popular item requested at each library?

o    How busy is each library by hour, each day of the week?  (Impact on staffing.)

o    How much material moves between locations within the consortium each year?

I will quickly outline how we do each of these searches, and show the results.
