On December 11, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP) will bring together technology startups, investors, government officials and stakeholders to learn about a new opportunity for funding cutting-edge technologies that address the most pressing challenges facing the Homeland Security Enterprise.

Through SVIP, DHS S&T reaches out to the startup and small business communities to find new solutions to counter emerging threats. In partnership with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS), and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), S&T SVIP has developed and released a new funding opportunity to address DHS mission needs. This collaborative solicitation—Preventing Forgery and Counterfeiting of Certificates and Licenses—engages early stage startups and provides opportunities for operational testing and market access.

S&T SVIP Managing Director Melissa Oh will provide an overview of the program. Anil John, S&T SVIP Technical Director, will explore the new solicitation and will moderate a panel of operational end-users from TSA, USCIS, and CBP who will discuss applicable use-cases. Other covered topics include Intellectual Property & SVIP and details on what your company should consider when applying.

Come join DHS S&T SVIP to learn more about current operational needs, opportunities to collaborate, and how your company fits into the mix.
