Within Ram Dass’ tradition of ‘Love, Serve, Remember’, the creation of community (satsang) stands as one of the most important pillars to help us grow and nurture our hearts.

When Ram Dass returned from India for the last time in the early 1970’s after spending time with his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, he began to cultivate community and host gatherings at his father’s farm in New Hampshire.

These gatherings were hosted not with the intention of generating income or gaining notoriety, but rather for people to have an opportunity to surround themselves with fellow truth seekers who were able to support their practice and spiritual growth.

Since Ram Dass has lived on Maui for the past twenty years, we’ve traditionally held our semi-annual retreats there so he can attend them in person. Although they serve as a wonderful way to experience satsang, they can be quite cost prohibitive to those who cannot afford to make it to Maui, and especially to a younger generation of college-aged seekers.

It is with Ram Dass’ original intention to share these teachings with a younger generation that we’ve created an accessible and affordable opportunity to build satsang and practice together in the hills of Southern California. Just as Ram Dass once held gatherings at his New Hampshire farm, we seek to carry forth his tradition of welcoming everyone regardless of income, age, or occupation - onto the path through our semi-annual Ojai Retreats.

Come gather in community, service and practice in a way that is fun and affordable, fostering Ram Dass’ original intention to pass the Bhakti tradition into the hands of a new generation.
