'Ike Hawai'i - Fall 2010

Mahalo nui loa for your interest in the Kamehameha Schools award winning ‘Ike Hawai‘i Distance Learning Program.  Kamehameha Schools Distance Learning Branch is excited to share with you the opportunity to participate in this unique program offering.  High school students attending public, charter, or private schools have the opportunity to enroll in interactive distance learning courses with an ‘Ike Hawai‘i (Hawaiian culture & knowledge) focus.  

 

The overall goals of the ‘Ike Hawai‘i Distance Learning Program are to:

  • provide culturally based curriculum and opportunities for Hawaiian learners to succeed in a distance learning environment.
  • encourage learner self discovery through Hawaiian cultural experiences to shape one’s own life or “world view.”
  • increase learner’s technology skills.
  • prepare learner’s readiness (academic, emotional, social) for higher education.

‘Ike Hawai‘i distance learning courses available for this semester:

             • Hawaiian Culture

             • Hawaiian History

             • Hawaiian Pacific Literature 1A & 1B

             • Hawaiian Leaders Past and Present

 

‘Ike Hawai‘i Certificate and internship opportunities available after completion of four or more courses.

There is a registration fee of $50 for each distance learning course.
