Manuscript and Portfolio Critique registration is happening off-line this year. Once you have registered for Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Friday/Saturday Day, you will be able to fill out and mail a Manuscript/Portfolio Critique Application Form with your submission and check. Critiques are slotted on a first-come, first-served basis and are not guaranteed. We're asking people not to use any shipping service that requires a
signature, since this can delay receipt since the critique registrar may
not be home when the delivery is made.
This year's critique staff includes:
SIGs, or Special Interest Groups, are moderated
conversations on a topic of interest to a group of like-minded
conference goers. The topic might be a genre, a format, an area of
writing or illustrating craft, an area of professional development, or a
notable publishing trend. To nominate a conversation topic for this year's conference, visit the New England SCBWI website for detailed information.
All rooms in the hotel for the weekend of our conference are blocked off for conference
attendees. You will need to call the hotel directly and tell them you
are with the SCBWI conference. The conference rate is $105 per night.
Cancellations before April 1, 2011 will be refunded in full.
Cancellations between April 1 and April 8, 2011 will be refunded at 50%
of the total. After April 8, 2011, refunds will only be given in case of
military service or a death in the family.
This year, 2011 NESCBWI Conference faculty member Laya Steinberg has undertaken a volunteer project to gather books for a new library at a school in
Kenya that serves girls orphaned by AIDS. We will have a drop box for book donations at the registration desk and thank you in advance for your donation.
