Participants should plan to arrive between 9:30am-11:30am (EST) on the Dickinson College Campus for check-in, registration, and lunch (optional). The conference officially begins with a welcome address at Noon.  The afternoon sessions will be hands-on workshops at the College Farm at Dickinson College, followed by the poster session, and panel address during a local and sustainable foods dinner.  Friday night features a foot-tapping, boot-stomping hoe-down; don't forget your dancing shoes!

Saturday, October 15, 2011
Conference activities will close at 5:00 pm on Saturday, followed by a Twilight Tour of the College Farm which will end at 6:00 pm. (This tour is available at no extra cost, and is recommended for those unable to attend Friday's portion of the conference at the College Farm or who would like a chance to talk to College Farm staff and view the facilities more closely).

Transportation to the College Farm will be provided for workshops and Twilight tour. Campers must provide their own transportation from the Farm to the Dickinson main campus.

Lodging and Meals

   

Meals: Friday banquet, and Saturday's breakfast and lunch are included in the conference registration, as well as coffee and snacks throughout the conference.  Friday afternoon, participants are invited to register for an opening lunch prior to the welcoming session on Friday afternoon, or bring their own.  Dickinson College proudly supports local, organic, and sustainable food systems.

Lodging: Participants must arrange and provide their own accommodations.

Hotel Accommodations: Dickinson College is located in the heart of Carlisle, PA, a beautiful historic town. Come stay with us! Group rates for the conference will be made available.

WHERE TO STAY IN CARLISLE PA

Camping at the College Farm: Limited space is available for those who want an affordable sleeping option at the beautiful College Farm.  Fall asleep under the stars and wake up with the sunrise! Camping is $5/person for the conference, available Thursday through Saturday evening depending on travel needs.
