FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)


 

1.      How do I register?

 

To register for the MFP Annual Meeting, you may do so online at the following link:

 https://www.regonline.com/samhsamfp2011

 

Registration closes on Friday, March 4.

 

2.      What time does the meeting start and end?

·        Pre-registration/check-in will open Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 4:00 pm.

·        The meeting begins with an opening plenary on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at 5:45 pm.

·        The closing session is scheduled to end Saturday, March 26, 2010 at noon.

 

3.      What happens after I register?

 

If you are a current MFP fellow, a representative from The Dixon Group, Inc. (DGi), will contact you within 24-48 hours via email with a tentative travel itinerary for you to review based on the travel preferences you noted on your registration.

4.      What travel expenses are being covered by SAMHSA?

If you are a current MFP fellow, the following travel expenses are being provided in-kind:

·        A roundtrip, economy non-refundable airfare ticket or train ticket. DGi will make your travel itinerary based on your travel preferences noted on your registration.

·        Lodging for up to 2 nights from March 24-26, 2011 – all requests for additional nights are on a case-by-case basis. DGi will make a reservation on your behalf. Only room and taxes are in-kind.  You are responsible for any incidental expenses charged to your hotel room. 

·        Per diem allowance (maximum of USD $71/day; reduced to USD $53.25 for travel days; any meals offered as complimentary during the meeting will be deducted from allowance).

·        Ground transportation expenses, i.e., mileage, baggage claim fees, tolls, taxis and public transportation.

5.      Do we make our own hotel arrangements?

If you are a current MFP fellow, the Dixon Group, Inc. (DGi) will make a hotel reservation for you based your travel dates.  One week prior to travel you will receive an email from DGi with your hotel confirmation number and ground transportation options to the meeting site. 

 

6.      Will I be reimbursed for all meeting expenses? What is the reimbursement process?

 

If you are a current MFP fellow you will be reimbursed for daily per diem and ground transportation expenses. The Dixon Group, Inc. (DGi) will send you an email 1 week prior to travel for the meeting with reimbursement instructions and a reimbursement form.

 

7.      Do I have to share a hotel room?

 

No. All non-local fellows will have their own hotel room.   

 

8.      I am a local fellow (Washington, DC Metro Area). Will I be reimbursed for my travel expenses?

 

As a local fellow, you will not be reimbursed for hotel accommodations if you choose to stay at the hotel.  You are also not eligible for per diem reimbursement.  You will, however, be reimbursed for your mileage to and from the meeting daily. 

 

9.      I live in the Baltimore, Maryland area. Will I be reimbursed for travel and/or hotel?

 

No, if you live within 50 miles of the meeting hotel you are considered local and will not be reimbursed for the hotel (you will be reimbursed for mileage to and from the meeting).  If you live more than 50 miles from the meeting hotel you are considered not local and will be reimbursed for all travel-related expenses.
