We are proud to announce the return of the annual EI conference, with pre- and post-conference events, to the beautiful riverwalk and San Antonio, Texas.   The 9th Annual Institute for Emotional Intelligence will convene over the dates February 20 - 25, 2012. With the theme
Celebrating Healthy Relationships, we hope everyone who has participated in past institutes will make plans to join us once again in 2012. Together with the capable El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel conference and catering staff, our team will work hard to make all events and activities comfortable, enjoyable and highly productive.  We look forward to seeing old and new friends and colleagues for fun, renewal, and collaborative planning during the 9th Annual EI Institute!

The institute schedule includes two pre-conference events (Feb 20 and Feb 21-22, respectively), the conference proper (Feb 23-24), and one post-conference event (Feb 25). Event highlights, included below, will be updated as programs and relevant information develop.

The similarities in business and academic challenges have never been more clear to me.  I'm thankful for the opportunity to attend, and for the professional yet personal atmosphere that you created for the participants. - Tim Wall, The Hartford

The LSTI© seminar with Darwin Nelson, Ph.D. introduces a new lifestyle assessment, wellness model, and pathway to emotional intelligence.  The LSTI© provides the framework for our EI assessments, training models, and introduction to emotional intelligence for individuals, organizations, and learning communities with a focus on health, wellness, and positive change.

LSTI© assessment features are integrated into 5 parts: (1) lifestyle and personality type, (2) lifestyle, human emotions, personal energy, (3) lifestyle and healthy personality, (4) lifestyle and personal-career-life satisfaction, and (5) positive personal change using the five steps of the Emotional Learning System©.

Each participant will experience the LSTI©, gain a process and model for lifestyle and wellness seminars for their own use, and receive a packet of ten LSTI© assessments and learning guides for use with current/future clients.  Participants will be able to offer their own seminar on lifestyle and personal wellness with emotional intelligence as the central emphasis.

Who should attend?
  • Professionals looking for alternatives to traditional personality and type assessment, such as MBTI©, DiSC©, and colors personality descriptions;
  • Colleagues currently using EI Learning Systems' assessments, books, programs;
  • Educators and HR professionals seeking integrated models for wellness, personal health, positive change model, and high achievement;
  • Others interested in learning about the education and transformative theory and models of emotional intelligence.

An EI Certification Workshop for professionals interested in a more in-depth experience with our positive assessments and related learning materials.  A goal of the certification is for each person to understand the background, research, strengths, and limitations of the assessments, as well as learning best practice applications in business/organizational settings, in health/wellness/counseling, in higher education, and in K-12 education.

The certification workshop is conducted through four modules and features participant experiences using our positive and research-derived life skills assessments. Certification participants may concentrate on the assessments that most interest them based on their application goals and interests.

Learn about and use our online and paper assessments for education and business:
  • Emotional Skills Assessment Process® (ESAP®)
  • Personal Excellence Map© (PEM©) and PEM-360©
  • Skills for Career and Life Effectiveness® (SCALE®)
  • Resiliency Skills Assessment Process© (RESAP©)
  • Service Skills Assessment Process© (SESAP©)
  • Sales Skills Assessment Process© (SASAP©)
Each participant will experience the assessments, gain an education model for teaching, training, and consulting, and receive learning material and a resource guide for personal use and professional practice.

Excellent presenters and programs emphasize research and 'best practice' examples of EI assessment and intervention models for teaching, mentoring, and coaching.

Highlights of our conference:
  • Exemplary model of EI and College Success
  • Innovative strategies for using EI and institutional effectiveness
  • EI curricula for self and leadership development
