What's New This Year?
This year's event is organized into three different tracks so that you can choose the topics that interest you most. Feel free to mix & match and move between events as you like (no reservations required for presentations):

Spiritual Exploration

Working with our innate ability to communicate with the higher realms of consciousness via psychic development, dream work, meditation, past life regression, channeling and after-death communication.

Academic Study and Scientific Research
Research data and academic exploration about survival of consciousness after death, including after-death communication, near-death experience, out-of-body experience and mediumship.

Mediumship and Psychic Ability
Special Saturday evening presentation by noted medium Suzane Northrop, which will include random audience readings. Suzanne will also be offering fee-based gallery-style readings and private sessions by appointment. Other mediums to be added to the schedule over the coming months.

Keynote Speaker and Presenter:
Raymond Moody, MD

In 1975, Dr. Raymond Moody's best-selling book  Life After Life focused public attention on the near-death experience like never before, and it was Moody who actually coined the term "near-death experience." Dr. Moody is also the author of The Light Beyond, Reunions, Life After Loss, Coming Back, Reflections, and Glimpses of Eternity. He continues to capture public interest and generate controversy with his ground-breaking work on the near-death experience and what happens when we die.

Stuart Hameroff, MD

Dr. Hameroff is a leading researcher on consciousness and reincarnation who has been privileged to work closely with
Deepak Chopra in a series of interviews, discussions and blogs on the existence of conscious awareness after death. He s a Professor Emeritus in the departments of anesthesiology and psychology at the University of Arizona, Tucson, and director of the Center for Consciousness Studies.

Special Saturday Evening Presentation  
Suzane Northrop  

Internationally acclaimed medium, TV and radio host Suzane Northrop has helped thousands worldwide to recover and heal from the loss of loved ones by bridging the gap between the world of the living and the spiritual world where the departed reside. Her presentation will address what happens after we die, why deceased loved ones continue to communicate us, and your own ability to communicate with those in the afterlife. Suzane will provide impromptu readings for random audience members, and will be also offer fee-based private readings and gallery sessions by appointment.

Melvin Morse, MD

Dr. Morse studied near-death experiences in children for 15 years and is the author of several outstanding books on the subject: Closer to the Light, Transformed by the Light, Parting Visions, and his latest book, Where God Lives. He is primarily interested in learning how to use the visions that surround death to heal grief, and the stories that children have told him about what it is like to die have lessons for all of us, especially those attempting to understand the meaning of death or the death of a child. NBC News says, "Dr Morse has done more to prove the existence of life after death than any other scientist."
After-Death Communication
Bill Guggenheim

Bill had to cancel his appearance at last year’s conference, and we’re delighted to be able to reschedule him for this year! With his former wife Judy, Bill Guggenheim conducted seven years of research on after-death communication and collected more than 3,300 first-hand accounts of ADC experiences for their best-selling book, Hello From Heaven!  The Guggenheims coined the term "after-death communication," and paved the way for further study in the field.
God: A New Story
Terri Daniel
Terri is an author, channeler  and death awareness educator who works with the dying and the bereaved to advance a metaphysical perspective on birth, death and the interlife. She is also the president and founder of the Annual Afterlife Conference. Her recent book, A Swan in Heaven is based on after-death dialogs between Terri and her son, who left the physical plane at age 16. Her new book, Embracing Death: A New Look at Grief, Gratitude and God, examines cultural myths about the afterlife and offers alternative perceptions via meditation, visualization and channeling

Edgar Cayce on the Akashic Records
Kevin J. Todeschi

Kevin is executive director and CEO of Edgar Cayce's Association of Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) and Atlantic University. As both student and teacher of the Cayce material for thirty-five years, he has lectured on five continents in front of thousands of individuals. Kevin's presentation will take participants on a journey to explore the mysteries of the Akashic Records, the storehouse of all information for every individual who has ever lived upon the earth including every word, deed, feeling, thought, and intent.

Barbara Lane, Ph.D

Barbara is a Clinical Hypnotherapist in private practice, and was trained by some of the foremost regression therapists in the United States. Her work has been featured on the Sightings TV program and in the Washington Post, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Village Voice, and many others. Barbara  will be conducting a group regression as part of her 90-minute workshop.   

Pre-Birth Planning
Robert Schwartz

Working with gifted mediums and channels, Schwartz researched the pre-birth plans of dozens of individuals to determine what they had planned and why. His work focuses on how we plan our greatest challenges before we’re born, and true stories of people who planned physical illnesses, having handicapped children, deafness, blindness, drug addiction, alcoholism, losing a loved one and severe accidents.

Near-Death Counselor and Animal Communicator
Ken Prather

Ken has had two near-death experiences: the first when he was nine years old and another when he was 49. After the second NDE, he spent 32 days on life support, during which time he had an amazing NDE that led him to a spiritual path. Today Ken is a hospice worker, a near-death counselor and animal communicator with the unique gift of knowing when a human or an animal is ready to cross over. 

Suicide and the Afterlife
Kelsey Collins

Kelsey is a Unity minister, hospice chaplain and author of Exit Strategy...Leaving this Life with Grace and Gratitude. She is also a mother whose son committed suicide at age 28. Her experience with his death altered her spiritual perspective, and with his guidance from the Other Side, she was led to help grieving individuals understand that suicide is not a sin or an evil act, but an opportunity for the soul to seek healing and expansion for itself and others.

PMH Atwater

Dr. Atwater is one of the original researchers in the field of near-death studies, having begun her work in 1978, after having three such experiences of her own. Her presentation will address what she has learned from her research with nearly 4,000 near-death experiencers regarding what it feels like to die and what death is. She will also discuss ideas about the various levels of heaven and hell that will be compared to near-death experiencer testimonials.
Extraordinary Experiences of the Bereaved
Louis LaGrand, Phd

Louis LaGrand, Ph.D. is Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus at the State University of  New York and Adjunct Professor of Health Careers at the Eastern Campus of Suffolk Community College in Riverhead, New York. The author of eight books and numerous articles, he is known world-wide for his research on the Extraordinary Experiences of the bereaved (After-Death Communication).

The Metaphysics of Forgiveness

Terri Daniel

Terri is a channeler and Certified Transition Guide who offers a unique metaphysical perspective on birth, death and the afterlife. Her 2008 book, A Swan In Heaven is based on after-death dialogs between Terri and her son, who left the physical plane in 2006. Her newest book, Embracing Death explores cultural and religious myths about the afterlife, and offers a path to alternative perceptions via the development of channeling and after-death communication skills.

Boyce is the Executive Director of the Academy of Spirituality and Paranormal Studies, and a psychical researcher whose primary interest is postmortem survival evidence. Suzanne Giesemann

Hay House author Suzanne Giesemann is a former Navy Commander and Commanding Officer who served as aide to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on 9/11.  In her career she flew on Air Force One with the President and visited with kings and queens, but nothing prepared her for the newest leg of her journey as a psychic-medium.  Suzanne is also a metaphysical teacher, the author of six  books and a teacher who offers workshops and private readings nationally and internationally.

Sandy Goodman

After the death of her 18-year-old son, Sandy began a journey into new realizations about death, grief, and the relationships that continue between those who have died and the living, defying the conventional boundaries between life and death. Her passage is chronicled in her book, Love Never Dies: A Mother's Journey from Loss to Love. She is a contributor to John Edward's Infinite Quest website (, and works with bereaved parents to help them understand that there is no death, only a shift in consciousness.

Dr. Alvarado has been involved in parapsychology since the 1980s working for prestigious facilities including the University of Virginia, the Parapsychology Foundation  and the Institute for Parapsychology (now the Rhine Research Center). His work focuses on the study of out-of-body experiences and historical perspectives in parapsychological studies. 

Sharon Strouse, MA, ATR, CIH

Sharon is a teacher and therapist who was determined to find a way to heal from the trauma of her daughter’s suicide. Her personal experience, together with her training as an art therapist created a  tapestry of healing through art.  She shares the process of creating a visual diary to work through the grief process.

Linda Fitch, chief executive officer of the Four Winds Society and dean of the Light Body School, Linda is a passionate teacher of Shamanistic death practices, and focuses her efforts on developing Dying Consciously, a free service dedicated to bringing dignity and peace back to the dying process.  In her presentation, she will demonstrate shamanic death rituals and share her knowledge about the shamanic afterlife.

Reverend Deborah Steen Ross

Deborah has been in the holistic and spiritual field for more than 30 years, with certifications and masterships in various forms of holistic and energy healing and Spiritual Counseling. She is  currently the director of The International Seminary for Interfaith Studies (ISIS) in NYC.  

Spirit Artist Rita Straus Berkowitz will lecture about and demonstrate her gifts as she draws portraits of our loved ones who have passed to Spirit.  Through Spirit Communication, Rita allows the faces of the deceased to appear on her drawing pad as she gives evidential information about each communicator.  This is tangible proof that life is continuous.

Una MacConville, PhD, Visiting Fellow, Centre for Death and Society, University of Bath, UK. is a sociologist engaged in researching near-to-death experiences, also known as deathbed experiences (DBE). She is also involved in research concerning the development of palliative care models for people with dementia. Her book, Sociological and Spiritual Aspects of Irish Palliative Care: Understandings of a ‘Good Death’ was published in 2011

Austyn Wells

    Because there are so many wonderful events planned for the weekend, your free time – and the presenter's  free time -- may be limited. So in order to help you schedule your appointment, please refer to the conference agenda to help you find a time that won't cause you to miss any of the presentations you'd like to see.
